- and shares a similar vision of plant medicine, teachings &
wholeness?
While Herba Vitalis is about one man’s journey with plants, Veriditas hibernica is
about a community...
1) Reconnect with the earth and the natural world
2) Recognise that we are part of the natural world; we are not separate,
superior or inferior; We are part of the web of nature
3) Reclaim our relationship with our plant kin and the common heritage we
have with them
4) ...see more on the site...
Veriditas has a great list of Resources & Links so get connected.
“Blog for Traditional Herbalists in Times of Transition”
“The Herbarium is the creation of a small, autonomous group of independent
herbalists. We have come together in a spirit of cooperation, to share knowledge
and resources, and to explore a different way of organising ourselves in this
rapidly changing world...”
IRH (Irish Register of Herbalist)
This is the Register where you can find a qualified, insured and well trained
Naturopathic Herbalist in your area. The site also gives information on herbs,
events, and a biannual newsletter that you can subscribe to. Check it out.
INA (Irish Naturopathic Association)
The sister organisation to the IRH. This is the Register where you can find a
qualified, insured and well trained Naturopath in your area. Check it out.
CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine)
This is the College where the members of the IRH and the INA trained. The
college is one of the most well established, professional training institutes in
Ireland. They demand high standards both from their students and from
themselves. A great college that trains Naturopaths, Herbalists, Homeopaths,
Acupuncturists and Nutritionists. If you’re thinking of training in this area then
check them out!
This is an organisation that is run all over the world to help men initiate into
manhood. They run a weekend call the New Warriors Training Adventure
(NWTA). The weekend is the start of a journey that helps men become the men
they want to be. When a man truly knows himself and his mission(s) in this life
then his family, friends and loved ones become a place of strengthen and
nourishment so that he can step bravely into the community and the wider world
and builds a future that supports, connects and protects (among other things) all
living things on this planet.
The closet training for Irish men at the moment is in the UK (Embercombe, Co.
Devon) but I am (with a group of men in Dublin) planning to hold a NWTA
sometime next year. For more info and updates on trainings check out the link
