As a massage therapist Neil feels it is important that the client gets what they
want and what his hands tell him is needed - checking with the client as he goes.
Every session is tailored to meet the individual’s needs and wishes.
During a session Neil integrates various techniques to provide maximum benefit
while ensuring that the massage is comfortable and feels good to the client. He
pays particular attention to the client’s experience (of massage), injuries, body
type, resistance levels (body & mind) and comfort levels.
There is something for everyone, whether it is:
Deep Tissue or deep deep tissue massage
Slow Relaxing massage (light to medium strokes)
Full Body Swedish Massage
Body Area Targeted Massage (i.e. Neck, Shoulder & Back)
Not sure but willing to trust the process
Unlike some places the massage starts the moment Neil starts to work on you.
So you get the time you’re paying for whether it be 30, 45, 60 or 90 min.
During his assessment (which continues throughout the massage) Neil may use
his knowledge and experience of Naturopathy, Herbalism and Iridology to offer
you insights and advice around diet, lifestyle, herbs, other therapies.
He also uses healing and herbal oils during the session depending on body type:
Vata calming oil - dry, thin, cool and cracked skin; knobbly, bony body
Pitta cooling oil - oily, red, hot & toned skin; toned body
Kapha reducing oil - thick, cold, fleshy skin; big boned, strong body
The amount of session can depend on a number of things, how much has
accumulated in the body, when was you last session, are there injuries, active or
sedentary lifestyle, what you can afford etc.
With every session more layers are peeled back so there is no way to tell for sure.
Every individual is different!
Generally speaking, if you have accumulated a lot and have been in ages then I
use this as a template - this often changes depending what come up.
Once every week for 3 weeks
Once every fortnight for 3 fortnights
Once every month for 3 months
Once every quarter for maintenance
If you follow a template like this you’ll really maximise massage.
Although massage wont sort out all you problems and ails (at least not right
away) one session can really make you feel:
Lighter - Healthier - Happier - Clearer - Cleaner - Looser
